A young girl and a middle-aged man have committed suicide in Daykundi
Local sources from Miramor district in Daykundi province told Tahawoul News that an 18-year-old girl and a 45-year-old man have hanged themselves with ropes in two separate incidents.
According to the sources, “Gul Afroz,” a resident of the village “Boom Shir Rabat,” ended her life with a rope in her home yesterday, Tuesday, May 28, at around 5 AM.
Sources added that in another incident, a 45-year-old man named “Tala Hussain,” a resident of the village “Naiqol Rabat,” hanged himself with a rope in his field outside his home today, Wednesday, May 29, at around 6 AM.
According to the sources, these two incidents are not related to each other.
No further details have been provided about these incidents, and local Taliban authorities have not commented on the matter.
Although suicides among women, especially young girls, are reported almost daily, suicides among men are rare.
The increase in suicides, particularly among women and young girls, is attributed to the lack of a bright future due to the restrictive limitations imposed by the Taliban.
