Taliban Arrest Girls in Dasht-e-Barchi for Not Having a Mahram
Local sources in western Kabul say that Taliban members in Dasht-e-Barchi have arrested a number of girls and women for not having a legal mahram.
At least three sources told Tahawul that the arrests began around 6:00 AM (Wednesday, August 28) in the Qala-e-No and Sark Bisot-e-Metre areas and are continuing.
The ban on women traveling without a mahram is among the strict restrictions imposed on women and girls after the Taliban regained control over Afghanistan.
This comes while the Taliban group had recently arrested a number of girls from the Shahr-e-No area of Kabul.
