Taliban Flog Two People in Ghazni
The Taliban’s Supreme Court has announced that a man and a woman have been sentenced to flogging and imprisonment for engaging in illicit relations in Ghazni province.
The court stated in a press release on Wednesday, March 19, that this sentence was carried out in the Dehyak district of Ghazni province.
According to the press release, both individuals have been sentenced to two years in prison and received 35 lashes each.
Although human rights organizations consider corporal punishment a violation of human dignity and against international law, the Taliban government has consistently reported the execution of public lashings.
