A former military officer has been killed in Baghlan province

Sources from Pul-e-Khumri, the capital of Baghlan province, have told the media that a former military officer was targeted and killed by gunmen on motorcycles in this city yesterday, Saturday, May 25.

According to the sources, “Hayat Mohammad” was shot by two motorcyclists yesterday morning while he was doing his morning exercise.

Some media outlets, quoting their sources, have reported that the motorcyclists were members of the Taliban. After targeting Hayat Mohammad, they left the area but returned after a while and shot his body again.

So far, local Taliban officials in Baghlan province have not reacted to this incident, its cause, or its perpetrators.

It is worth mentioning that mysterious killings, attributed to unknown perpetrators, have increased since the end of the republic regime, and most of the perpetrators have not been arrested.
