The Taliban announce the discovery of dozens of historical artifacts in Ghor

Local Taliban officials in Ghor report the discovery of 40 historical artifacts from the Minaret of Jam area.

The Taliban’s Directorate of Information and Culture in Ghor stated in a press release today, Saturday, May 25, that these ancient artifacts were uncovered in the recent floods in the historical area of the Minaret of Jam. The press release added that the mentioned artifacts have been handed over to the provincial museum in Ghor.

Abdul Hai Za’im, the head of the Taliban’s Directorate of Information and Culture, told the media that the discovered artifacts belong to the Ghurid era.

It has also been stated that these artifacts will be examined by a team of archaeologists.

Further details about the nature of these historical artifacts have not been provided, but earthenware vessels can be seen in the published images.
