Conflict between Taliban and Pakistani forces in Paktia; Dozens of families displaced
According to local sources from Paktia province, Taliban and Pakistan forces have clashed again over the past twenty-four hours.
Sources say these clashes occurred in Zazi district, resulting in dozens of families being displaced due to heavy shelling from neighboring border areas.
The conflict reportedly began when Pakistan forces attempted to construct a military post near the border, prompting Taliban forces to open fire to prevent it. Pakistan forces responded to Taliban’s gunfire with similar actions, intensifying the confrontation.
It’s been reported that both sides have used heavy weapons against each other in this conflict.
Although border tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan’s border forces have existed within the republican system, the situation has escalated unprecedentedly since the resurgence of the Taliban.
In addition to Pakistan, Taliban border forces have clashed multiple times with Iranian border guards as well.
