A swarm of red wasps attacked Israeli soldiers in southern Gaza; ten were hospitalized.

Euro News, citing an Israeli army statement released this Friday, May 10th, reports that hundreds of red wasps attacked Israeli soldiers in southern Gaza. According to the report, Sheba Medical Center in Israel stated that 10 of these soldiers were hospitalized for treatment and most of them were transferred to the standard ward.

Dr. Aviv Ironi, head of the emergency center at Sheba Medical Center, said: “Some soldiers were stung by hundreds of wasps, while others were stung by fewer. Some of them showed a widespread allergic reaction.” He added: “I have never seen anything like hundreds of wasps attacking one person.”

Israeli soldiers have been engaged in fighting against Hamas and Islamic Jihad fighters in southern Gaza for several days, despite widespread international opposition.
