The Taliban to Execute Four Individuals in Three Provinces

The Taliban announced on Thursday that four individuals will be publicly executed on Friday (April 11) in the provinces of Farah, Badghis, and Nimroz.

The Taliban’s Department of Information and Culture in Farah stated that one individual will be executed at 7:00 AM tomorrow in the central stadium of the province. This will be the second public execution in Farah since the Taliban returned to power.

Similarly, the office of the Taliban governor in Badghis said in a statement that two individuals will be publicly executed in that province.

Meanwhile, the press office of the Taliban governor in Nimroz announced the public execution of one person in that province and called on the public to gather at the central stadium to witness the punishment.

According to statements by Taliban officials, all four individuals have been sentenced to qisas (retributive justice) for the crime of murder.

The Taliban has previously carried out public executions as well — including one person in Farah, two in Ghazni, one in Laghman, one in Jawzjan, and another in Paktia.
