
The Taliban whipped a woman and a man in Kapisa
The Taliban’s Supreme Court has announced that a whip sentence has been carried out on a woman and a man in Kapisa province. In a statement released today, Thursday, January 30, the Taliban’s Supreme Court stated that based on the ruling of the primary court of the second district of Kapisa province, this woman and man were sentenced to whipping for committing adultery.
It was also reported yesterday that two men and one woman were whipped in Panjshir province, and two men and one other woman were whipped in Nangarhar province. After the Taliban regained control of the country, sports fields have become places for corporal punishment and executions.
International human rights organizations consider corporal punishment and executions to be against international law and human dignity, and they have repeatedly called for an end to these punishments.
